Justin wins at the Juno Awards!!!

Arcade Fire

The Montreal rockers follow up their recent Grammys triumph with four trophies, including album of the year, while Justin Bieber grabs two of his own.

TORONTO — Having surprised at the Grammys last month by winning the top-prize album of the year, indie rockers Arcade Fire on Sunday night dominated the Juno Awards in Toronto.

But the Montreal rockers didn’t have the spotlight all to themselves: Justin Bieber took home his first-ever trophies at Canada’s music awards.

Arcade Fire earned in all four Junos, for best group, best album for The Suburbs and best songwriter for the singles “Ready to Start,” “We Used to Wait” and ” Sprawl II.” The indie band on Saturday night also took home the Juno for best alternative album at a nontelevised gala in Toronto, where the bulk of trophies were handed out.
Arcade Fire beat out Broken Social Scene, Great Big Sea, Three Days Grace and rap-pop newbies Down With Webster to take the group of the year Juno.
But teen sensation Bieber also shined at the Junos by predictably taking the fan choice award, the only competition voted on by ordinary fans, and pop album of the year for My World. 2.0. The Stratford, Ontario-raised Bieber, while a no-show at the Junos as he’s on tour in Europe, did manage to offer thanks for his bling via a video message.
“I want to thank the fans so much for being so supportive, buying my albums and voting for me… All right — peace, Junos,” he said.
Bieber did lose out to Canadian icon rocker Neil Young in the best artist competition. Young on Sunday night also received the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award.
“I was 16 one time. He’s fantastic. He’s got some moves, doesn’t he?” Young said of Bieber after snagging the best artist trophy from the young teen pop singer.
