Justin Bieber’s 3D film “Never Say Never” opened in theaters this weekend, much to the glee of millions of his excited fans. It remains to be seen, however, if the Boy Wonder with the golden voice can knock Miley Cyrus from her top spot for biggest concert film box office ever.
Justin Bieber fans will be filling the theater seats for “Never Say Never” this weekend, but will it be enough to knock the reigning queen from her throne?
In 2009, Miley Cyrus set the bar for concert films astronomically high with her Hannah Montana / Cyrus crossover concert film “Best of Both Worlds.” Earning a whopping $31-million dollar box office opening, the film has not been surpassed financially by any other, including the Jonas Brothers who opened with $25 million nor the King of Pop himself Michael Jackson’s post humous “This Is It”, with $24 million.
If anyone can do it, Justin Bieber can. Certainly the same could be said of Michael Jackson who fell short, but he was not at the height of his career like a certain baby-faced crooner is; he was merely on the path to a comeback. Justin Bieber, like Michael Jackson, has managed to cross generational lines with his appeal and fan base, something Miley Cyrus really has not.
Not everyone agrees, however, that Miley Cyrus can be dethroned. BoxOffice.com editor Phil Contrinotold E! Online he didn’t think the record would be broken.
“He’s definitely going to end up closer to the Jonas Brothers.”
While Justin Bieber fever may reach pandemic levels this weekend, fans will have to wait ’til Monday to see if he can beat Miley Cyrus’s record.
What do you think, does he have what it takes, or will he fall short of Hannah Montana like all the rest? In his own words, “Never say never”.

Yes for sure Justin will earn more than Miley on this movie record.
