Justin Bieber says there is “no cure” for Bieber fever.
The 16-year-old singing sensation was discovered after he posted clips of himself singing on video sharing website YouTube.
He then came to R&B superstar Usher’s attention, and global success quickly followed.
The Canadian star says he truly appreciates his young “beliebers” – the nickname given to his fans – and hopes he continues to attract a wide fan base.
“Why would anyone be worried about Bieber fever going global? Why would I worry about getting more fans? They are the ones that support me and helped me to get here,” he told Cover Media. “BTW [by the way] there is no cure for Bieber fever!”
The floppy-haired star owes a lot to internet social networking sites Twitter and Facebook.
His meteoric rise to stardom began to take off when he accessed the sites in order to communicate with fans.
“My fans and I have that special connection because we’re able to talk on Twitter and Facebook and you really have that one-on-one,” he said. “It’s crazy. I definitely know that without it I would never be in this place and wouldn’t have the opportunity to do any of this stuff.”
